Wherever possible we will aim to ship in stock items within 24 hours of purchase. As the store uses real self adjusting stock levels their shouldn’t be any instances of ordered items not being in stock. If for any reason ordered items are not available (for example if when packing your order we realise the units in stock are damaged or faulty) then we shall contact you immediately and give you the option of full refund, partial refund (if you have ordered multiple items and still want the other items sending), choosing an alternative product or waiting for a replacement item to be sent out as soon as available.
Orders can be despatched to any address supplied at checkout and if Recorded or Special Delivery (within the UK) or International Signed For (rest of the world) options are chosen a signature will be required on delivery so please ensure that you choose an address where someone may be present.
Delivery will automatically be calculated as items are added to your basket and can be checked at any time by clicking the View Basket button, choosing your country from the drop down list and choosing a shipping option. The shipping module has been configured to automatically calculate shipping to 240 different countries, if for some reason your own country isn’t showing up let us know via the contact us form and we’ll address the problem.
All shipping quotes are priced at cost, we don’t charge for packaging and we offer a variety of postal options worldwide so regardless of value, weight or urgency there should be an option suited to you.
Within the UK the options are;
Royal Mail 1st Class this service typically delivers in 1-2 days and is ideal for lower value orders.
Royal Mail 2nd Class this service typically delivers in 3-4 days and is ideal for lower value less urgent orders.
Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded this service typically delivers in 1-2 days can be tracked and requires a signature upon delivery and is ideal for higher value orders or just extra piece of mind.
Royal Mail 2nd Class Recorded this service typically delivers in 3-4 days can be tracked and requires a signature upon delivery.
Special Delivery Next Day this service guarantees next day delivery by 1pm to most locations within the U.K, includes tracking and signature on delivery and insurance up to £500. This is the service we would recommend for purchases of pedals or any higher value orders.
Royal Mail Standard Parcels this service typically delivers in 3-5 days and covers orders right up to 20kg in weight and is ideally suited to heavier, less valuable orders where time isn’t an issue.
Please note all orders of £50 or greater value must be sent by either a Recorded Delivery service or Special Delivery.
For the Rest of the World options are;
Royal Mail Airmail Small Packets this service typically delivers in 3-5 days depending on destination country and is ideal for orders of knobs or batteries or any orders of smaller value.
Royal Mail International Signed For this service typically delivers in 3-5 days depending on destination country but also provides tracking, a signature on delivery and insurance up to £500. This is the service we would recommend for purchases of pedals or any higher value orders.
Please note all orders of £50 or greater value must be sent by International Signed For.
Heavier International order can be sent by Parcel Force Euro 48 (within Europe) or Fed Ex World Economy (rest of the world). Please contact us if you require more information about these services.
Orders Damaged in Transit & Missing or Wrong Items Sent
All higher value orders will be sent via a service requiring a signature on delivery. Within the UK if the parcel looks like it has been badly damaged in transit refuse to accept the delivery and contact us to make us aware of the problem. Elsewhere in the world accept the delivery, carefully check through the parcel to see if any items are missing or damaged and let us know within 24 hours of receiving the goods. For any instances of damaged, incorrect or missing items please contact us within 24 hours of receiving your package.
Orders can be cancelled at any time until despatched by either emailing us or using the contact us form. If you are wishing to cancel a pending order please include the order reference number supplied at checkout in your correspondence. When a cancelled order requires a refund this will be issued within 48 hours.
Checkout is currently provided by Paypal and most cards and bank accounts can be used during the Paypal checkout without holding a Paypal account. Alternative checkout options will be added to the site at a later date. If in the meantime you are unable to make payments through Paypal or are encountering any payment or technical issues please contact us for alternative payment methods.
Please be aware that if during Paypal checkout you choose to pay by echeque this payment method can take a number of days to clear and therefore despatch of your order can be delayed accordingly.
Returning Faulty or Unwanted Items
If within 14 days of receipt of the goods you wish to return them please contact us at the earliest possible opportunity to make us aware that you shall be returning them.
The customer is responsible for the safe return of the goods and we strongly advise that you retain a proof of posting and package the items securely. Please contact us before sending the items so we can advise on suitable delivery methods.
We will refund the purchase price of the item in full within 14 days of the goods being received and checked by Downstroke. Delivery charges are not refundable.
The customer is not entitled to a full refund of the product purchase price if they have not taken reasonable care of the goods prior to cancellation of the contract. Reasonable care includes returning the goods with all accessories, cables or manuals nor should the goods, internal or external packaging be damaged in any way.
